Locations generally reflect the main operating site or head office.

Low-turnover businesses without VAT or PAYE registration are outside this measure.

Concentrations at virtual offices or registration addresses can distort local figures. ONS flags the 2024 death counts for Camden, Hackney, Islington and Buckinghamshire. A high rate is not necessarily evidence of struggling high-street businesses.

ONS adjusts recent death figures for expected reactivations. The latest two years are provisional; this page uses only 2024 and makes no historical boundary comparison.
